Frozen Jr Tickets

Thank you so much to those of you who resold your extra tickets on our Facebook page to families in need. This reduced the numbers needing tickets and we managed to release tickets we had reserved for teachers to the families who had still missed out. Our teachers have given up their seats and will see the show at its final rehearsal instead. We have now managed to accommodate all immediate family members. Some relatives have missed out so if anyone at any stage cannot attend a show, please continue to advertise your tickets on the NAPA P&F Facebook page as there is still a demand for some family members – so keep an eye out for these if you need more. Also, a big thank you for your patience and those of you who gave us words of support and understanding – so special.

Final rehearsals are going well. Set pieces and costumes are coming together, and Laura and Thomas are busy planning the lights.

The Importance of the P&F

For some of our parents who are quite new, you may not be aware of the purpose and the great work our P&F do. Firstly, let me explain the need for them. We do not own this building, it is leased, so anything we do to the building is purely for our students, we are not going to have this money returned to us from investments made into improving our facilities seeing it’s not ours to sell. We don’t want to add charges for costs of all equipment and improvement made to the facilities into our fees, we would rather ensure that fees cover the cost of our rent, the higher rate paid for having the best teachers, and basic running cost and essential equipment. As mentioned in previous correspondence, shows only just cover their costs as it is very expensive to stage a show and a percentage of our ticket prices goes to royalties and our ticket service fee. The funds raised from the P&F goes to providing extra resources and improving facilities for our students.

For the past few years, our incredible mums, Janneth Zarate Beltran, Danielle Sutherland, Kimberley Janssen and Trina Power have taken on the roles of executive committee where they plan, promote and operate fund raising activities. This is a time-consuming job that they have worked tirelessly at. Running the bar, the canteen and fundraising activities is very demanding. The support they have from some parents is wonderful but there is only a handful of mums who help out on Saturdays and on the bar, so we often have to close the canteen as some weeks there are no volunteers. With so many parents at NAPA it would be lovely to see some more offers of help. If you are too busy to help, we would appreciate you being involved in any fundraising events as they occur. It could be by donating prizes for the raffles drawn at shows, purchasing raffle tickets, or currently, by participating in the Cookie Dough Fundraiser. Their aim for this is to raise enough money to improve our dance studio flooring for our students, that will provide more cushioning in the flooring.

By supporting the P&F in anyway you can, will help improve your child’s experience here at NAPA. The P&F have a separate bank account to ours and is controlled by the executive P&F group who represent all of you. So please give them your support in any way you can, to benefit your child.

2024 NAPA College Applications are Now Open!

Applications to study for a Certificate IV in Musical Theatre are now open and need to be submitted before the 30th September. Once submitted, you will be sent the audition information. Please note that students must be in Grade 10 or Grade 11 in 2024 to apply. Click the image below for more information and to complete your application.

Just a reminder to check out last week’s pictures of the lost property and come and collect your items at reception if any are yours. The rack is very full and may need to be re-homed before the end of the term to clear a space for more recent lost items.
