Musical Ticket Purchases

We have been taken aback by how quickly Frozen tickets sold out. Our concern is that some immediate family members have missed out. As much as families want to see every performance their child is in, this is impossible to accommodate given the seating capacity and the number of performances we can do in a show season. Productions need to go on in the second half of the year to give teachers time to train, cast and rehearse. Fitting all our shows into this time period and making sure there is time between shows to build and install the set, program lights and rehearse with the set on stage, takes a lot of thought and preparation. We could put in rows instead of cabaret seating and fit in another 20 people in each session but it’s not easy to see the whole stage in rows or be as enjoyable without a table for drinks and food. Therefore, we need to address the issue with a change in how we do tickets sales. Please note this very carefully.

Firstly, for Frozen tickets. If your child is in the show and you have not got any tickets, please reach out on our P&F Facebook Group for assistance and we ask for those of you who have bought multiple tickets for more than 2 performances, please sell some on the Facebook Group to be fair to those who missed out. Thank you to those who have already done this. If by next Friday 18th August at 5pm, you still don’t have any tickets, please email me that night to give me the weekend to work out how many tickets are needed and what we can do about it.

For our upcoming musicals (not plays as these seem to meet the demands) we are going to implement the following procedure. Opening of ticket sales will be given a week’s notice in the newsletter. The notice will open up ticket sales for parents only. At this point you will only be able to purchase 4 tickets and when booking you must use your child’s name. We will give you 3 days to do this. Once we have checked that only the students’ families have bought the tickets, we will open up for general ticket sales. Parents can buy more tickets then but not for every show. At least this way you will all have 4 tickets to start with. This will take a lot of admin work to cross check ticket sales, but we don’t want a reoccurrence of immediate families not getting tickets. If this works, we will implement this process for next year as well.

Lost Property

We are only mid-term but as you can see, we have lots of lost property. If you recognise any of these items, please collect them this week as the rack is full. Just a reminder that the rack is in reception so it’s worth popping in on a regular basis to check lost property. Just a reminder these items will be re-homed at the end of term so please claim anything that’s yours. It’s sad to see so many expensive items lost and not collected.

Please note that students must be in Grade 10 or Grade 11 in 2024 to apply. Click the image below for more information and to complete your application.

Before I sign out today, I would like to thank all the parents who give us so much support in either fundraising, reading carefully and following instructions from correspondences, helping with bump outs, working on the bar or canteen, helping with costumes, or collecting and returning props.
