NAPA News - Week 9, Term 4, 2023

Dear NAPA Families,

We may be drawing close to the end of the year but there is still a lot happening here at NAPA. I will endeavour to make sure every detail is communicated clearly so no one misses out on anything – unless you don’t read the newsletter. Please also remember that events, dates, information etc are on our website. You can always refer to that. These final weeks are a time for our students to shine and sparkle, so this will be our theme for our awards ceremonies this year.

Congratulations College Graduates

We are so proud of our 2023 College graduates as they have achieved their Certificate IV in Musical Theatre along with lots of other achievements throughout their time with us. Congratulations Grace Thomas, Lottie Smith and Lulu King. We celebrated with a Graduation Dinner at Marina Mirage where beautiful photos were taken. When the girls have confirmed what offer they are taking next year to further their studies, we will let you all know.

Chookas to all our Dancers

Our end of year concert at HOTA is such an exciting experience for our dancers. They all get a chance to shine on stage at a lovely venue, and doing what they love, without the pressure of competition. Final rehearsals and costuming everyone is certainly a challenge and a lot of pressure, but it’s all worth it in the end.

Please be aware that these final rehearsals are most important, so it is vital that everyone attends the classes they are in this week and the rehearsal at HOTA on Thursday. Please note that as a safety issue HOTA does not allow people on stage who have not attended the rehearsal where all the safety procedures are communicated. So please ensure your child is at the Thursday rehearsal or they may be removed from their routines.

Final Week of Classes

This is our final week of classes up until Thursday 30th November (Thursday dance classes will not be going ahead seeing they are all at HOTA for the rehearsal). Some students already had their final class on Saturday. During this week, please check the lost property as we will rehome items at the end of the week. Here’s a photo of what was there on Saturday.

Time to Sparkle and Shine

Here is the information regarding our Awards Ceremonies and Christmas Party. Firstly, no matter which Awards ceremony the students are attending they can dress with the theme “sparkle and shine” in mind. So, anything that is shiny or has a sparkle will be great.

FTV Screening + Awards

  • This is held on Wednesday 6 December for our FTV students when they will see their work on screen. Tickets for adults can be bought from our website. Students and children are free of charge.

  • There will be some yummy treats provided for everyone who attends.

  • The Screening and Awards will be held at 5pm for our Junior Acting for Stage & Screen & 7pm for Pre-Senior & Senior FTV.

  • Please note that only FTV awards will be presented. If your child does other classes as well as FTV  they will need to attend the other Awards ceremony appropriate to their age to receive their awards.

Awards Ceremonies for All Other Classes

4 December – Rehearsal

4-5pm – Junior Rehearsal

  • This is for all students in Primary School or who although attend high school  are in Tweens or a Pre-Senior class and have emailed me that they want to attend the Junior Awards.

  • Broadway Tweens will be performing at this ceremony.

  • It’s important that students attend the rehearsal as we will be removing certificates and trophies of those not at the rehearsal (unless you have emailed me to inform us that they will be at the ceremony).  This will hopefully, eliminate us calling out multiple students at the ceremony who are not there.

5-6pm Christmas-get-together

  • This is a time to dress up in something Christmassy – Christmas T-shirts, Christmas colours, Christmas hats etc.

  • This is a combined Junior & Senior get-together

  • Thanks to the P&F we will be supplying Pizzas and ice-cream for our students.

  • We would love 4 helpers to serve the food. Please let me know if you can help.

  • Music will be playing to dance and sing to in the courtyard and we will set up a Christmas selfie booth for groups to take Christmas photos of themselves with friends.

  • 6pm – Junior pick up time

6-7pm – Senior rehearsal

  • This is for all high school students

  • Students not in attendance for the rehearsal will have their certificates and trophies removed as we will assume they are not attending the Awards Ceremony, unless I have been informed.

  • Broadway Bound Extension will be performing at this ceremony

8 December @ 7pm– Junior Awards Ceremony

9 December @ 7pm– Senior Awards Ceremony

  • Students will be seated at 6.30pm

  • Doors open 6.45pm for guests

  • Dress to sparkle and shine
