NAPA News - Week 9, Term 3, 2023

Dear NAPA Families,

Wow, time flies! This upcoming week is our last week of Term 3. Term 4 will be packed with more great productions and events, so enjoy a restful holiday NAPA cherubs and parents in preparation for a very busy term ahead.

Frozen was a Great Success!

Congratulations to our talented Tweens and production team for a great performance of Frozen. From all the reactions and comments, the audience loved it! We are so proud of our cast and so thankful to our student and parent helpers who have volunteered to help backstage, selling raffle tickets, taking home washing, and manning the bar. Thank you to our wonderful raffle prize donators (hope I haven’t missed anyone) Bec Lockwood, Colleen Reynolds, Danielle Sutherland, De Leon Jones family, Kylie Loveday and Madi Broad. What a great NAPA family we have! Next Saturday is a well-deserved rest week for our Broadway Tweens and teachers, so no class this Saturday.

Next Show - All Shook Up - Broadway Bound

As announced a couple of weeks ago, Pre-Ticket sales will open for parents only, on Tuesday, 12 September to buy up to 4 tickets. Tickets for family members will only be available from your Parent Portal by clicking on the “Tickets” tab. When purchasing the tickets please put the tickets under your child’s name for us to cross check only cast parents are purchasing the tickets. On Friday the 15 September we will then open ticket sales to the general public from the website and for parents who wish to buy more than the 4 assigned tickets in the Pre-Ticket sale. Please do not forget this as there will be no newsletters during the holidays to remind you.

Pre-Senior FTV and Junior Acting for Stage and Screen

This week these classes were going to invite parents to the class to present the work they have been doing with Michael. However, they are doing so well with these scripts we have decided to continue to develop them further for the end of year presentation at the Screening night. This week Michael will be introducing the classes to Lily Boisvert who will be teaching them next term. Lily is an expert in filming and editing, so it will be a great term of filming of the students for Screening night.

REMINDER: NAPA Closed in September Holidays

As mentioned in previous newsletters, we will be conducting work in West End and throughout the studio during the holidays to make improvements to the facilities. Anyone who can help out on 20 September at any time between 8am-3.30pm for some general labouring for our carpenters, would be greatly appreciated as it will bring down the cost for the P&F.

The studio will be open for the final Sunday of the holidays and Monday of the long weekend in readiness for the rehearsal days for our Senior Tread the Board and Broadway Bound classes. All classes return the week starting on Tuesday 3 October.

Performance Team off to Australian Dance Festival

Some of our Performance Team members and staff are off to ADF for the first time this year. Rather than attending another competition we decided it would be a wonderful opportunity for our dancers to attend the festival where they get to attend workshops with some of the leading choreographers and teachers in the biz. Enjoy your time in Sydney cherubs and teachers!

Last Week to Claim Lost Property

Left over lost property will be re-homed at midday this Saturday, so please check into reception in case your child has lost something. It’s a shock to see so many expensive items not collected throughout the term.

Enjoy your last week of Term 3 classes and have a fun filled holiday everyone!

Best wishes,

Lynn & the NAPA Team
